Well U2 fans here is the day we have been waiting for. The album completed, the next one in the works and the band all rested up in their hotel rooms just chilling out before the kick off.
Vancouver your up first ! We have reporters on the ground. We have lots of ways to get your U2 news. So lets start off with the basics.
Kick of time! The band has had its challenges to get to today however that is all behind us. Tonight the band will start the scaled down world tour. Vancouver has been home for the band for a couple of weeks. Rehearsals at Pacific Coliseum to Rogers Arena (the move happened over the weekend); The GA line has been forming and at this point is up and running very orderly. (This is normal)
Vancouver is a buzz of U2 fans all over town. The last time U2 played Vancouver was October 2009, which was the wrap up the highest-grossing tour of all time. Tonight they will play an arena show to about 19,000 fans from around the world. A smaller venue does not mean a smaller show. It is a different show with a more personal feel.
The band is ready to go, that is all we keep hearing. Rock 101 will become U2 101 all day to day from 7 AM to 11 PM local time. Which you can listen on-line, the station will be playing all U2 songs back to back getting fans ready for the day ahead.
We have lots of resources available for you

Critics, Fans and Tour
Musicians have a love hate with critics and those that claim to be in the industry with knowledge of what the "fan" wants. This weekend NYT blog has some pretty interesting comments about the up coming tour, the band and the "uncertain" album.
U2 fans have been lucky that the band has already turned a deaf ear to what critics say or those that want to say "its time to call it a day"
The fact that the boys are so what healthy and that while so fans would like more cities added to the tour most understand that its better to have a few cities and a healthy band with great shows then canceled shows. Its not easy being the worlds greatest band.
This summer tour season has a couple of BIG bands out on the road. Rolling Stones, Greatful Dead, Van Halen just to name a few. For most this would be the " Summer of Love" the big blow out. However not for U2, this is the summer to give audiences a chance to really soak in the new album a possible taste of the next album.
This will be a pretty busy week with U2 news almost daily. Download our newest app for the most current updated news and the show fan connect feature.
