Terry Waite Kidnapping, FOX network born, creating the 4th network on U.S airwaves and the Simpsons appeared on TV for the first time.  Prozac debuts, Regan Years, Wall Street, Dirty Dancing and yet in all of that noise a band for Dublin awakens the American spirit to drive hate into the darkness.

I love being there, I love America, I love the feeling of the wide open spaces, I love the deserts, I love the mountain ranges, I even love the cities. So having fallen in love with America over the years that we’ve been there on tour, I then had to ‘deal with’ America and the way it was affecting me, because America’s having such an effect on the world at the moment. On this record I had to deal with it on a political level for the first time, if in a subtle way.

1987 was a year filled with promise, despair, tears and joy and U2 took over the airwaves of Rock, Pop stations across America with the band aimed for a harder-hitting sound within the limitation of conventional song structures on The Joshua Tree.

The album is influenced by American and Irish roots music, and depicts the band's love–hate relationship with the United States, using socially and politically conscious lyrics embellished with spiritual imagery. The album received critical acclaim with chart-topping songs:
"With or Without You," "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For," and "Where the Streets Have No Name," the first two of which became the group's only number-one singles in the US.

The Boys won a few Grammy's for Album of the Year and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal in 1988.   Hitting the road in 1987 with a record breaking tour, selling out venues around the world.

Critics could no longer ignore the boys from Dublin, placing them on the list of one of the greatest albums of all time, with over 25 million copies sold.

The boys released a remastered edition to push the album forward into a digital age, and in 2014 it was deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" by the US Library of Congress and selected for preservation in the National Recording Registry.

Scalpers In U2 Heaven

New York:  Sure U2 has sold over 1.1 million tickets worldwide. However how many have been sold directly to music fans? U2 fans again have expressed significant concerns on how ticket sales once again have pushed U2 fans to secondary markets at prices that go beyond extreme.

U2 fans have taken to social media to express their anger at Live Nation, Ticketmaster and of course the thousands of ticket brokers around the world. A petition has launched by the Irish fans voicing their concerns about the secondary market.

So what about the fan club? If you're a member, you get a pre-sale code, and you can purchase tickets before the ticket sales open to the public. However, that right comes with a fee and no guarantee that you will, in fact, get tickets.  Just how many tickets are carved out for the fan club? Ticket sales have been an issue not only for U2 fans, but it's also a matter for all fans that would like experience a show at a reasonable price.

The dedicated U2 fans have worked out among each other a way of sharing pre-sale codes and even extra tickets at face value to ensure that fans can attend the show and not support brokers.

Fans can share their information with other fans on U2 Forums. Sharing their extra tickets or even pre-sales codes which at this point would be over. Fans find ways to connect with other fans and work out ways to be able to attend shows. U2 fans are the most dedicated and supportive of other fans. In the end we all want to have a great U2 experience

U2 Fans Beware ! Fake Ticket Scams

New York:   Ticket resale sites need to step up and remove listings for speculative tickets for the last few days a large amount of ticket broker sites have appeared selling U2 tickets.  Currently, the tickets are under Fan pre-sale until today 1/13 at 9 AM local time when the public can come in and purchase tickets.

Fans should be aware that most of the venues are considered ticketless.  That means you buy the ticket via a credit card and you get access to the site via the same credit card.

Cutting down on the massive number of ticket volume brokers, which in the past have left fans having to go to a three party ticket broker and pay as much as 500% more than the listed price.   Just beware of all of the scams to get your information as well. Ticket drops from official radio stations can be a good way to get tickets, however beware.

U2 Fans Pre Sales Nightmare !

New York: The day could not get any worse for some U2 fans. Fans have been posting on social media there displeasure with the pre-sales ticket process.

This is nothing new almost for every single U2 tour fans have complained about the process and the way that Ticketmaster handles the entry to purchase and once again fans with pre-sales codes feel as if the system is rigged against them.  Can't speak for Ticketmaster however if your a long time U2 fan you know you get in early and you keep trying.

On the other hand if you have your tickets we would sure like to hear what city your going to see the show. Lets all be positive and enjoy the show #U2
