U2 Possible Tour Stops in Peru, Chile, Brazil, Argentina

New York City: The newspaper "La Tercera De Chile" has awoken many U2 fans within South America, breaking news reports suggests that Live Nation has already signed agreements from around South America. Which at this time can not be confirmed.

The South/Latin American tour would be part of the current tour "The Joshua Tree" expectations are that this could come later in the year,  the paper suggests more towards the end of the year.

Makes sense South/Latin America would be in the summertime, and the weather for stadium shows would be better in most venues also for tour routing. As details develop, we will let you know. For now, let's just chill a bit and see what happens.

U2 Tours the World 2015

U2 has been working very close guarded on an up coming tour to begin in 2015 Sources close to the band have suggested that the boys will head out and do a full world tour with stops in some countries that they missed the last time around. Such as Peru, Chile and Argentin. Bono visited Peru about a year or so ago and informed the fans that he loved the country and is looking forward to coming back. Now a posting from UM (South America) suggested that South America is big on the tour list.  Now no details have been confirmed and the boys are out marketing their new release so we do not expect to hear much about the tour for at least a few weeks. What we do know is that this is a much different tour and that we can expect some cities to have two or three night dates. Expect MSG to be at least 3 nights. More to follow as we dig into the details. 

Argentina 3rd Show Difference

The reviews have all come in U2 was fired up last night in La Plata – The last of 3 shows as part of the 360 Tour. The Claw will be packed up and sent on its way later today ( well it will take about three days )

Leon Gieco and Francisca Valenzuela joined the last time during the show in Chile a couple of days easlier.
 
Gieco sang backing vocals and guitar by Bono “All I ask of God,” in an emotional block that also included a prayer from factory own “I Still Have not Found What I’m looking for.”
 
It was the latest of several surprises that left the Irish in Argentina. The first was the inclusion of, “Even Better Than The Real Thing”, a song from Achtung Baby The boys had not played the song for several years.
 
Beyond the basic set list is more or less unchanged;a U2 sought to create nuances in the three that shows at La Plata that made each a unique experience for fans.

Last night, the main surprise was the entry of Gieco on stage, but there were more changes. The classic “Pride (In The Name Of Love)”“Bad”, a jewel of the album The Unforgettable Fire. And for the first time “Magnificent”, was not included.
 
There was one failure in these three U2 concerts, the band did not play any song from their 1987 album, Rattle and Hum. But for the more than 150 000 fans who filled the stadium for three nights everyone enjoyed the show and wondered a bit if this was the last time they will get to see Bono and the boys.  

 

 



2nd Night Argentina

Tonight, La Plata, U2 gives its second concert in Argentina, as part of a 3 night series the 360 Tour started on  Wednesday with about 60 thousand delirious fans packed into stadium in La Plata.

U2 returns to step on the impressive stage set for the show that was what gave the name to the tour, as the Irish band’s performance can be seen from anywhere in the stadium because of the way in which it was built the scenery.

Regarding the role of Sunday, the last of U2 in Argentina before heading to Brazil to continue to segment the South American world tour 360 º, the opening hours of door will be at 15 and U2 will take the stage at 19 hours.

That’s what you see in the opening minutes of the third concert of U2 in Chile, which began at 21:30 in National Stadium. 

The hugh structure knowen as “The Claw” featuring a 360 ° stage that allows the boys to be view from all angles. “Allows us to get closer to the fans, Bono saiid”

Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen made their to the stage and started the night off with a piece of the song by Violeta Parra Thanks to life, ” whose chorus was joined by singer Francisca Valenzuela.

79 000 people surrendered at Bono’s feet , according to figures released by the show’s production. As announced Valenzuela, Bono shared the stage with the Chilean singer singing the song “One Tree Hill. “
The show ended at 23:47 hours on the track Moment of Surrenderby U2 song chosen to leave Chile.

We are very happy to be back, this is one of our favorite places in the world, “ Bono said on his arrival in Santiago.

According to reports, before traveling to Argentina, the band plans to visit other cities of Chile. Suggestions of production are La Serena and exclusive resort The Tacas, in the north, and Pucón and Villarrica, in the south.
 
The next stop on the tour will be in Buenos Aires, where the Irish will be presented in the newly roofed Estadio Unico de La Plata on 30 March, 2 and 3 April.

Chile Stadium Filling Up !

6 Thousand screaming fans are already inside the statdium as 3,00 more await to enter the inner circle. Doors open 16:00 and according to production estimates 75 thousand fans will pack the house tonight.

At 6 o’clock yesterday morning began arriving fans of the quartet, who spent Thursday night and early this morning covered with sleeping bags and tents, to overcome the low temperatures.

The fans that came as they were being marked with a number, managed to let them spend the night at the Stadium Athletic Track.

Those numbers would allow them to be going smoothly to Inner Circle sector, which occur around 14.00 or 15.00, before the opening of doors to the general public scheduled for 16.00 pm today.

Before entering the venue, fans were entertained by U2 singing songs with guitar, and then enjoying the sound check for their idols, which started at 18.40 and lasted for about 3 hours. Could there be a glimpse of how the code tonight, with topics such as Mysterious Ways, Beautiful Day and Elevation and the stunning scenery that includes the 360 tour of the set of Bono.

Among the long line of fans, including people from different cities of Chile and Peru, Brazil, USA and Germany also were followers of the English Muse, who will open fire with your show tonight, at 20.00 hours. U2’s performance is scheduled for 21.30.

U2 rehearsals in Santiago

Yesterday the band took sometime  to rehearse at Estadio Nacional. One of the biggest surprises is that they did some sound checks around “One Tree Hill” so far this tour its been played at two concerts in New Zealand.

The rest of the set was fairly what you would expect as the tour progresses thru South America. Stingyray was rehearsed which sat on the side lines for the last two shows in South Africa. 

Here is the set list from the sound check, remember that this is not considered a show set list. Most of the time during rehearsals you can expect to have large gaps between songs so that programing can be worked out or some other features could be added. Bono was not in a couple of the songs.

U2 Chilean Fans Wait

More than 500 people are outside the National Stadium waiting for the U2 concert. Although the concert will not start until 22.00 pm on today, a group of more than 500 people already outside the National Stadium, waiting to open the doors of the room to witness the spectacle of U2.

The first followers of the Irish band would come at about 6.00 am this morning, led by the official fan club of the group in Chile.


National Stadium gates should be opened at 16.00 hours on Friday to make way for more than 75 thousand people will attend the show,  Follow the show today via twitter or facebook.
