New York:  The band has sold more than 145 million albums worldwide and has won 22 Grammy Awards, more than any other rock band. U2 formed in 1976 when the members were teenagers with limited musical proficiency. The question that has been kicking around the office for a few weeks has been will U2 release a commercially available album prior to September 30th, In order for U2 to qualify for the next year awards, they would have to release an album prior to 9.30.16.

Those are the rules and fans remember when U2 had quietly slid a few vinyl copies of the LP to a few independent retailers, just in time to qualify for next year’s Grammys. Songs of Innocence was released to a very small number of retailer and U2 made the cutoff.

The 14th album has been in the works for some time and Edge made some comments to BB that suggest that we might see something by the end of the year with a shiny new tour to be kicked off the end of 2017.

Fans the rumors have been running wild and sure we would like to say that the boys have been working hard in their studio recording that new fresh sound we have been talking about for some time or that reports have surfaced that the band, in fact, has some tunes down on tape, very early stages and not a tune have been heard outside the studio.

We can't confirm it or deny it. We do know this. If U2 was to want to make not only a performance appearance at the Grammy Awards show in February they will have to release soon.

Well, Boys here's to seeing you in September !

Will U2 Music Arrive on Tuesday ?

U2 has been working on “Lucky 13” since 2011 and the all the hype of last week U2 fans are not so ready to put the band in a category of yesterday and move them into irrelevant.

Bono is not so ready to go off into that good night with just being the greatest band of all time.

U2 is more than you know! As you listen to the singles released, you get a sense that the band has been working on a new anthem that will drive a new generation of U2 fans into the future.

The new project is loaded with new selection of producers. Such as Danger Mouse of Gnarls Barkley and Broken Bells, Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic and Adele’s collaborator Paul Epworth, but also will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas and dance-music specialists like RedOne and David Guetta (whose own single “Lovers on the Sun” has more than a hint of U2 in it).

U2 has revitalized itself before with electronic dance music; that’s what it did in 1991 with “Achtung Baby.” But until the full album emerges from its long gestation, it’s anyone’s guess how U2 hears itself in the 2010s.

It’s been a long road. In November 2013, the band released its first new song in four years, "Ordinary Love", recorded for the biographical film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom. The second song released after the break, "Invisible", is reportedly the first track that the band has finished recording for the upcoming studio album, which scheduled for release mid-year.

On 2 February 2014, a part of "Invisible" was unveiled in a form of a Super Bowl XLVIII commercial, and made available as a free download for 24 hours, with Bank of America giving $1 for each download of the track to (RED. According to the band's website, the period of time in which the song was available for free was eventually extended to 36 hours, and the total sum raised was $3,138,470.

The music of U2 has appealed to both Christian and secular audiences alike for well over two decades. Not only are the sounds and melodies intriguing but also the lyrics exemplify powerful emotions, which captivate audiences by identifying with inner emotions and struggles.

Challenging times for the boys as they try to complete their 13th album and find away to reach out and touch that magic that is U2.

Faith, always been centered on ideas that man has failures and if he is willing to rise above, he too can experience greater joys in life.  It is a simpler process to create music and remove the concepts of faith it’s harder to instill them and kind a balance.

Its Sunday morning as I listen to some U2 music mix I begin to think about what Tuesday will bring for us as well think about how U2 has sifted through various images of religion, what does that mean to you and me?  I’m inspired so often by music and the directions that one band can take over the years seems to provide the growth that we all need. So as we await the future of U2, I ask you What does U2 music mean to you?” Inspired by U2 or is it inspired by Bono?

U2's Invisible Review

Invisible the second song or technically the first or just a single, heck at this point who knows, we all have been waiting for the next release for what seems to be months and yet we are no closer to any actual announcement of the next studio album.

We like to call it “Lucky 13” just because we have no real title to announce at this time.  “Invisible” is a bit different and yet the same for those U2 fans that have been around for a while.  LA Times review was not as flattering, which is nothing new for reviewers.

Bono did say once or I am guessing he did that he was listening to Kraftwerk which we can pick up within the single.

U2 does not depart from the message of hope, peace, and faith that is one of the staple trademarks, and you can really start to dig into the idea that God has not departed the room, yet.  Musically the band seems challenged to find its way into this new music world and yet bring forth their devoted fans as we all march towards 60.  The single may provide us the framework for what is to come of U2 or it might be a floating balloon to which the band will see who hangs on.  One thing is for sure. U2 is coming straight toward us this year with a full album that might just be released in the middle of darkness. We give it a 5 stars for different yet the same and with a splash of possibility

U2 New Album Release Due in May

Paul McGuinness has reiterated that U2 is planning to have a new album out in May, in time for the North American leg of the U2 360 tour.

Amazon.de – the German branch of the electronic commerce company – has listed the as-yet-untitled effort to come out on May 27.

No other details were available at press time about the release date.

The Irish band have been working with Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am and David Guetta on their follow-up to 2009’s ‘No Line On The Horizon’.

In December, Will.i.am said that songs he had recorded with U2 had “blown” people away when he previewed them at a party last year.

Meanwhile, U2’s Bono and The Edge are currently putting the final touches to the broadway adaptation of Spider-Man

Achtung Baby ! Remaster Out On Sept 4, 2010 (RUMOR)

Achtung Baby We’ve seen the release of the ‘Joshua Tree’ (remastered) box set featuring a range of collectable goodies. We seen re-mastered and repackaged editions of Boy, October and War. It seems reasonable to surmise that an Achtung Baby release of this nature might also be in the pipeline.

Do you thnk holding the release until 9/2010 to coincide with the 20th anniversary of he album makes sense? Well folks once again the rumors are flying. The only question we have should we buy into posting rumors or not. If we don’t fans ask are you not aware?  If we do than fans ask us are you crazy ? Either way we can’t win. So rumor or fact, at this point to early to tell:  9/4/2011 Possible.

What additional features might a deluxe edition contain? a bonus disc containing all the B-Sides from this era? A bonus DVD featuring never released before footage from ZOO TV shows? ‘A Making Of’ documentary filmed especially with the band and production team behind the mixing desks, as was the case in the Joshua Tree ‘Classic Albums’ disc in which Lanois and Bono isolated specific tracks and talked through each song?

‘All I know is that it feels like what I want right now, it’s raw and rough and straightforward and down to the essence of things, quite unpolished in some ways and I like that.’ Edge in Propaganda 15

After Rattle and Hum, U2 went away to ‘dream it all up again.’ Achtung Baby was widely regarded as a sonic and visual reinvention of the band: a step too far in some territories, where Adam’s nude image on the sleeve was covered with an appropriately fixed X or clover. At U2’s request, Achtung Baby was the first album by a major act to be released in two eco-friendly packages - the jewel box (without the long box attachment) and the cardboard Digi-Trak. The Digi-Trak featured long-box sizes cardboard, which, once its shrink-wrap and two plastic struts are removed, folds around the CD. In Germany, Universal released a 2-CD box set with a copy of both Achtung Baby and Zooropa.

The album peaked at No.2 on the US album chart and at No.1 on the UK album chart. It was certified multi-platinum by the RIAA with 8 million units sold. In Switzerland, Achtung Baby reached No.3 on the album charts and stayed in the charts for a total of 19 weeks and was certified Gold. In Australia, Achtung Baby was certified 5 times platinum by the ARIA.

U2 won the Grammy for Best Rock Album by a Duo or Group and producers Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno won Producers of the Year for Achtung Baby. Additionally, the album was nominated for Album of the Year. In the Rolling Stone annual reader’s poll, it came No. 1 for Best Album and Best Album Cover.

Produced by Daniel Lanois with Brian Eno mainly at Hansa Ton Studios, Berlin, Dog Town, S.T.S., and Windmill Lane, Dublin. Engineered and Mixed by Flood with Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses and Even Better Than The Real Thing mixed by Steve Lillywhite
