Brand New 'Song For Someone' Video

Their new feature for "Song For Someone" will be online for only 24 hours. Video posted below.

At the point when U2 dropped their first music features, you needed to keep your eyes on the TV on the off chance that you needed to catch them. Unless you were particularly VCR-slanted, taking it in at whatever point MTV chose to reveal to it was your opportunity to catch Bono's legend in its transitory, 1980s greatness.

For their most recent feature, U2 is having a go at something kinda-sorta thusly, maybe a cutting edge identical. They've shared a feature for their Songs of Innocence track "Tune For Someone" that is spilling on Facebook as a 24-hour selective. En Bonne Montréal U2 Fans

Montréal comes to a close as U2 fans look back over the few days of music and friends with great amazement. U2 has has always been about connecting with fans and Montréal fans got some extra extra treats this week. Bono welcoming Mirror Ball Man to the stage, An increase number of fans joined the band on stage.

Personal comment, leave your phone or camera in your pocket and taken the whole experience. As one blogger site called the stage invite "Controlled chaos" this stop along the tour has some memorable experiences for a few fans.  Our camera man happened to capture some great fans inside and outside this this time. We are still looking for that U2TOURFANS sign. Maybe Chicago fans will bring it out !   The set list has a few changes however what really is different about each show really is how the band interacts with the fans.

Bono seems to be more interactive, chatty or just engaged with the fans of Montreal speaking in French a few times, inviting fans to the stage and of course helping us remember those that need to be remembered.  Its an experience. That's the best way to describe the series.

U2 Rocks The Roxy

HOLLYWOOD, CA -  Right smack in the middle of the 5 night run at the Forum, KROQ working with The Roxy Theatre held a surprise gig for about 500 lucky fans who managed to score free tickets for the event.

This was the smallest venue the band has played in many years. The band did come out and spend some time with the fans, signing and posing for photos. Inside the Bono even did a bit of crowd-surfing and amazed fans with a very up close and personal evening.

Wednesday night we had a photo of the set list that was to be performed at the Roxy. The photo turned out to be right on the money. The band had a very long sound check that included “11 O’clock Tick Tock”, “The Ocean” “Elevation”, “Stuck In A Moment”, “Sunday Bloody Sunday”, and “California”.

The band will head back to the forum to finish out their LA gigs and head on to Denver.

U2's Films of Innocence

11 of the world's most acclaimed urban artists unveil their work through a collection of art films, inspired by U2's Songs of Innocence. Taking the political murals of Northern Ireland as a reference point, U2 pioneered the project to celebrate the unique democratic power of urban art. Oliver Jeffers, Robin Rhode, D*Face, Mode 2, Chloe Early, Ganzeer, Vhils, Maser, ROA, DALeast, and Todd James make up this global multidisciplinary group project. Chosen for their undisputed ability to capture the imaginations of their audiences, the artists were given complete creative freedom to showcase their personal responses to U2's music, through a series of part-animated, part live action films. The result is an exhilarating display of diversity in approach, style and commentary. Powerful and cognizant, their works scale the globe, play with time, and weave between heightened reality and animated dreamscapes. United for the first time in film, the eleven international artists have taken their work from the streets to the screen. These original works of video art transpose their visions from the physical to the digital and are collected here together as a visual counter-point to the album, a set of unique and compelling Films of Innocence.

Jefferson Hack is credited as the film's director and Lois Newcombe as producer.

U2 and NASA Collaboration Video

NASA and U2 released a commemorative video highlighting a year’s worth of collaboration in space and on the Irish rock band’s 360 Degree tour.

U2 approached NASA in 2009 with an idea to include a dialogue between the band and the crew of the International Space Station during U2’s world tour. The astronauts of Expedition 20, the crew then living aboard the space station, agreed to participate and spoke with U2 several times before recording a video segment the band incorporated into its concerts.

The space station crew members were Michael Barratt of NASA, Frank De Winne of the European Space Agency, Bob Thirsk of the Canadian Space Agency, Koichi Wakata of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, and Gennady Padalka and Roman Romanenko of the Russian Federal Space Agency.

“Working with U2 is atypical for NASA,” said Bill Gerstenmaier, NASA’s associate administrator for Space Operations. “By combining their world tour with the space station’s out-of-this-world mission, more people — and different people than our normal target audiences — learned about the International Space Station and the important work we are doing in orbit.”

Speaking onstage in Houston last year, Bono said, “These are the very best people in the world — dedicated to figuring how our little planet exists in this cosmos we call home.” De Winne and Romanenko attended U2’s performance in Moscow on Wednesday and met with the band before the show.

U2.com created the video and presented it to NASA to document the collaboration between the band and the space agency.

Vote for U2's 360 Tour 2009 Fan Video

Editor Note:  In case you lived under a rock for the past year and you found this website by mistake. Here is a small refresher before we ask you to vote. Real fans you know the story by now. So go directly to the bottom for the voting details.

The U2 360° tour that recently ended its first leg in the U.S. has taken the stadium show to a new level. The sheer scope of the production is mind-boggling. It took two years to design and develop, travels on 180 trucks, employs more than 400 people — including 12 system engineer/techs — and uses an astounding amount of audio and video gear. The best thing about the show is the communication and contact between the band and the audience provided by the 170-foot-tall steel structure perched over the stage.

Originally inspired by the Theme Building at Los Angeles’ LAX airport, the four-legged “spider” incorporates all of the lighting, some of the 12 manned cameras and spots, massive speaker arrays and a huge 360-degree vertically expandable LED video screen.

And as ridiculous as it sounds, once the show starts, you forget it’s there: Instead of being the elephant in the room, the structure focuses attention on the band and how they interact with the crowd, both near and far.

The inner ring nearest the main stage gives more than 3,000 fans close proximity to the band, while the outer ring gives the band access to standing and seated concert goers farther out.

At different times during the show, The Edge, Bono, Adam Clayton and even drummer Larry Mullins Jr. use two moving bridges to perform between the areas and are followed by video and audio all the way.

Voting: When the tour started we agreed to collect videos from every show from fans, guests, U2Tourfans team and crew. Its easy for us to say we have 50 to 60 videos from each show. Now the boys don’t mind punters shooting video. They are not cool with people selling them. Most fans would never buy or sell a bootleg video. (we hope) We have a process to post the videos to our channel (U2TOURFANS) or our Fan page on Facebook. We have selected a couple of videos to be the video of the year. Voting starts today and runs thru Monday - We ask that you vote only once per day (12hr) and that you view all the videos before voting.  Lets have some fun - Vote  Now- Please share and post your thoughts.
