What has happened to the magic?  Over the last few months, it seems that the magic has left the building. U2 expected to release a new album this year with a stadium tour in the summer and it seems that the whole thing stalled out in Dublin.  The album we like to call “Lucky 13” seems to be taking longer to finish and while some may say that’s ok because the whole album will capture the magic again.

Rumors suggest that the band was looking creative support on this project and this was the reason to push to 2015.  Remember this is a self-imposed release date nothing official was announced.

"We've always needed collaborators to challenge us," says drummer Larry Mullen. "We're slow learners. We need to be creative, on the cutting edge, challenged, and it's really hard going, it's relentless, and we're relentless, and we have a history of breaking engineers, producers. I mean, people come out of working with U2 and just go, 'I just don't know what's happened; it feels like a lifetime has passed by.' And that's just the way we work."

Bono then added: "The album won't be ready till it's ready. However, right now, people are walking a little differently -- well, they are not walking, they are running as if to a finish line. There are a couple of songs that are part of the story we have not quite finished. We know we have to spend a couple of years taking these songs around the world, so they'd better be good."

Bono’s comments suggest a world tour will follow shortly after the release of the new project. Will it be worth the wait or have we already experienced the best that U2 has to offer?  Time will tell.

Complete Rubbish, U2 new Album will arrive 2014

U2 have rejected reports that their new album and tour is to be delayed until next year. A brilliant move by some marketing industry types to keep the band in the center of the music worlds focus.

Billboard pops off some speculated rumors that that bands lucky 13 will be subject to a push out or rather a push back into next year.

Well fans chill out a bit because now the new rumor is that the boys will in fact be ready toss out another fantastic album this year, in fact another rumor suggests that we may see something very soon.

A spokesperson for the "The Guardian" has rejected the claims that the boys have lost that loving feeling for each other and fail to come together to complete the project.  As for a tour plan, heck that's really going to be a Summer 2015 if at all.

U2 Halts 2014 Focus Moves to 2015

Marketing Machines come to a halt, tour plans stalled out, album delays and yet the band has faith that their new project will relevant and an outstanding project that will keep U2 within the kingdom of rock.

Well fans with crashing blow news surfaced today that U2 has pushed their project out to 2015.

Billboard Magazine has the exclusive report that a source stated, "That magic that the band always seems to capture ... they have yet to capture it."

Rumors suggested that 2014 was to be the year of U2 it surely seemed that way with the Golden Goble award and the Grammy Nomination.

However, no official word has yet to come from Interscope and the fact that a suggested tour announcement slated for mid March. September was to be the kick off for a world tour with Live Nation running tour now seems to all pushed out to the summer of 2015.

Bono continues to focus his legacy and what will be of U2 that this may have paralyzed the band from creating the magic. We all remember when Bono said he feared the band was "really close to the edge of relevance," noting "there's a giant chasm between the very good and the great, and U2 right now has a danger of surrendering to the very good." He reiterated those sentiments to The Hollywood Reporter in February when he noted, "to be relevant is a lot harder than to be successful."

Count on this the band will have to create something because they are under contract to do so. The magic will either happen naturally or forced and that will be come the legacy of U2.

Interview with Bono brings out Punk, Insecurity and Future

Bono sits down with the BBC for an interview and we get to peek over the shoulder.

Yea Rolling Stone and the rest of the world happened to be peering over too.

So what did we learn?

  • Bono, States the album is not done until it is done.  Hum that’s pretty insightful and a painful statement for U2 fans waiting for a bit of time for something fresh however that’s a uncommon statement among artist.
  • Bono still focused on single release from Sunday.  We're at nearly two-and-a-half million downloads and there were one million downloads in one hour Sunday”
  • Official Album Title yet however Bono did throw out the working title “Insecurity” remember it was stated a working title. Do not be dummies and buy the domain name.
  • Expect Punk and Electronic Music on the New Album. We had reported earlier that the boys have been listening to some music from the 70’s and picking up some vibes from the Ramones and Kratwerk and surely you can hear the influences within “Invisible”
  • Inner Bono struggling self and for a deeper experience, "There were really wild extraordinary people and then you feel deeply not extraordinary. You feel invisible and you're screaming to be seen and you have your band and this is your whole life. It's that feeling of getting out of town."
  • Did we already say they are still working on the album? Yea finished in a couple of months, easy now back away from your keyboard.
  • Bells and Danger Mouse could be a telling sign of what we can expect to hear.
  • Tour? Sure, lets keep inside this time as was suggested before. Something little which could never really happen.
  • Irrelevant, that dam word keeps coming back as if to say we must go now into the dark of night and call it dead.  No, dam it we should continue forward and embrace the possibility of a new generation of U2 fans.

"We'll find out if we're irrelevant. I'm perfectly prepared for people to try and blow us off the stage. We're just not going to make it easy." Bono

Adam Drops Hints !

Adam Clayton

Adam Clayton

Adam Clayton let some hints slip while on Irish station 98 FM's Dermot and Dave show. "We are still at it. We hope to have it finished very, very soon. And it will be out, oh . . . sometime early next year," Clayton said. "But it's a very exciting bunch of songs right at the moment . . . it's just about to be finished, so it's hard to know which way they'll go.

Pretty much what we heard was that Adam and the boys are back in Dublin working in the studio on 12 songs to get them finished by the end of November so that everyone can go on holiday and that we can expect a new U2 album early next year.

U2 Expected Spring 2014

Spring 2014 almost 5 years later since U2 has released an album. The rumors are flying around that suggest Spring 2014 for some new music from the boys. Everything we heard from our sources suggests we are on track for Spring 2014.

In case, you missed it. Bono was on Dave Letterman and suggested that the final touch up is under way. The artwork, some videos and the marketing machine team will start kicking it to full gear early 2014.

Lets be real we all know U2 likes to have everything in place and really fine tuned prior to any release. This we know for fact. We can expect to see the boys appear on the road supporting the new project because of changes in the music business bands really need to hit the road to earn any money.

Yes, even U2 with their 360 agreements with Live Nation will be required to hit the road. We think that the rumor around smaller closer intimate venues might be way for them to go. Getting closer to the fans, playing multi dates in some of the larger cities to support a kind of a fair well tour. (Yea we said it).

The boys really want to make a big splash and yet they still fight the noise of “are we relevant?” the boys want to go out on top as the “Worlds Greatest Rock Bands” Its all part of a greater plan.

So for now know that the music is on the tape and ready to be burned to CD’s or downloads and all that’s left is for the label to pick a release date that brings the biggest amount of attention.

U2 Grammy Bound 2015 ?

Bono / U2 / U2TOURFANS / U2360

Bono / U2 / U2TOURFANS / U2360

U2 is expecting 2014 to be a busy year for them.  As we have reported earlier the endless supply of rumors keep us busy and dreaming of the possibility of something this year.

Lets look at this from U2’s point of view if we do not release something before the end of October we lose our chances for 2014 Grammy.

If we wait until 2014 to release well we have a whole year to look for that Grammy single or heck the whole album.

That makes sense right ? Well not from a fans point of view.

So fans its time to sit back relax listen to some of the greatest old stuff you can find from the boys and wait it out. Think lucky March !

Now what is a concern for us over here @U2TOURFANS. What will the tour be like? What can we expect?  Some massive giant explosive tour with amazing visuals or maybe something small, inviting and warm.

We heard that the ideas that have been kicking around suggest a 3 stop with 3 different sets every night. Also we heard that maybe it would be 3 decades of U2 shows broken into those 3 nights.

Well back to our dreams we head as we await the next rumor.
