U2 Grammy Bound 2015 ?

Bono / U2 / U2TOURFANS / U2360

Bono / U2 / U2TOURFANS / U2360

U2 is expecting 2014 to be a busy year for them.  As we have reported earlier the endless supply of rumors keep us busy and dreaming of the possibility of something this year.

Lets look at this from U2’s point of view if we do not release something before the end of October we lose our chances for 2014 Grammy.

If we wait until 2014 to release well we have a whole year to look for that Grammy single or heck the whole album.

That makes sense right ? Well not from a fans point of view.

So fans its time to sit back relax listen to some of the greatest old stuff you can find from the boys and wait it out. Think lucky March !

Now what is a concern for us over here @U2TOURFANS. What will the tour be like? What can we expect?  Some massive giant explosive tour with amazing visuals or maybe something small, inviting and warm.

We heard that the ideas that have been kicking around suggest a 3 stop with 3 different sets every night. Also we heard that maybe it would be 3 decades of U2 shows broken into those 3 nights.

Well back to our dreams we head as we await the next rumor.

Hiatus ? Could it be True ?

U2 / Bono / U2TOURFANS

Everyone was a buzz, could it be possible that the biggest band in the

world is going on hiatus or could it be that the band has chosen to break apart and “Walk On” The idea that something this great may need to be destroyed in order to grow has been heard all to many times with great bands. Yet, the great bands remain focused on turning out great music.

R.E.M has set the dinner table to finish strong.  For R.E.M ending on top requires strong CD sales, however it has failed to provide the last winner for R.E.M.

The boys have completed the largest tour ever and with some extra months, days, hours added in to recover from a delay with Bono’s injury its easy to hear the rumors that the boys may be at the finish line. Rumors fly like the lyrics of a song. Yet no official word has come from management, label or the boys leaving the fans to wonder aimlessly into the past. It is true that every good band must be a

ble to reinvent their music to the issues and public cry of the day.  If the rumors are true, this was the best summer of music ever.

To say that it is over is far from the truth. Their manager already has told people that would listen to him. Bono has work to be finished and the creative juices have been on over drive for sometime. A bad rumor needs to end with us not supporting the noise any longer.

Free Show My Ass !

Well we knew if we waited some time a true message would come out about the possible free show in Brazil for the world cup. Once again it proves why we don’t post rumors or suggested possible rumors - All because its bull shit ! Yup that’s the official word of the day  - We have been off a few days for a well deserved break and when we returned our email box was flooded with emails from our friends down south ( South America) Yea the boys had plays a super show over a 3 day period and amazed the crowds. So of course the rumor mill would start flying a story that the boys may come back around to play a free show. Well we did some digging and it seemed possible based on calendars and timeline of releases that this could be possible. Well we digged deeper and got some info from some sources and the verdict is in. BULL SHIT - We call it - Nope no facts yet to suggest its possible. So with that we will remain our ban on rumors. Ugh said to say we been dupped but hey every dog has its day.

U2 may cancel more concert dates

As word of Bono’s emergency surgery spread around the U2 fan base one thing was clear, this was going to be a long weekend. As fans began to plan their North American follow U2 began the long process of logistics.

Most of the 400 plus crew as due to arrive in Utah this coming week. Where from you ask ? Well pretty much all parts of the world.

Some crew members finished up gigs months ago and have been cooling their gig bags at home, waiting for this week to come.  When your in the concert business large super tours are hard to find. Its long term work and when you have the chance to jump on a super tour like this one, you run to the bus. Run fast !

In the case of Bono and the boys this was going to be the pay off for many. Mortgages paid in advance, Child Support all caught up, as well as a couple of other details. This is the lottery tour.

Crew members die to be on this tour. Bon Jovi, Van Halen (early days), Rolling Stones, The Police all mega shows earn big dollars for lots of people.

So its no surprise that the news of Bono’s surgery has left many wondering will the band be forced to cancel the tour until fall ?

The singer was injured when he fell on stage while rehearsing in Munich and was rushed to hospital where he was operated on.

He is said to be making a good recovery but plans for the tour, set to open in Salt Lake City in June, are now on hold.

Manager Paul McGuinness stated that the band will “reinstate the dates” that they will be forced to miss. It has not been a happy 50th birthday aftermath for Bono, who was hyped up about the resumption of the tour when he spoke at the American Ireland Fund dinner in New York two weeks ago.

Given Bono’s need to be highly mobile while on stage, a back injury and surgery could be very tough for him to overcome.

The tour resumption was set to feature several changes in the band’s on stage act. The U2 360 Tour had just paid for itself last year and was set to capitalize on very positive advance bookings when the injury happened to Bono.

We thought about it. We have choosen not to create any guess work. We will inform you as we know rather than spread rumors, guess work and frankly just crap. Here is what we can tell you bags, packed, street team ready, cameras, videos and hotels all booked. Now its up to God which we think that Bono and God happen to be pretty tight. So God we call on you.

U2 South American Rumor Translation

We have been watching all of the twitter news about the possible South American tour. Normally we do not engage in rumors. However we thought we owed it to our readers to translate the whole report from PABLO MÁRQUEZ / Desde Cannes. We have a spanish speaking staff and we reviewed the following and the translation can be found below.

Dave Long/U2TOURFANS 2009

English Translation - U2TOURFANS STAFF

Dave Long/U2TOURFANS 2009Manager of U2: “We will make possible to Latin America” Paul McGuiness discarded the 360 ° Tour pass by Chile in November, but leaves open the option for early 2011.

PABLO MÁRQUEZ / from Cannes as a visitor of MIDEM, the exhibition in the global music industry that develops these days in Cannes, France, strolling through the corridors bald and bonachón Paul McGuinness, the first and only Manager which had U2 in his more than three decades of trajectory.

For many, this easy smile Irish is great responsible for a group of four friends from Dublin become the world’s largest band. And, therefore, always interested in knowing what you are thinking of now roiled the popular music business, McGuinness raises her hand to ask questions to panels of experts that discussed here on what comes.

“We, with U2, are in the live music business.” We started very timidly and we have become the most important live band in the world, perhaps the most important in the history of popular music. With this tour we’ll, at least 90 concerts. We did some 45 last year and we believe that we can do other 45 during 2010. “In total, let’s play vs. some 6 million people in all countries visit”, explains.  -At a time it was said that U2 would return for the third time to Chile in November this year.

“It is likely that we will not this year to Latin America, sorry.” Perhaps back at the beginning of the year that is coming, but that we still have to define it. And the reason is that this show, the 360 ° Tour, is one of the largest can imagine.

They are three scenarios, who have to travel by boat of about 200 containers in total. We estimate that, per day, the cost of each show is about 3 million dollars. But we do our best to return to Latin America, of course.  -To define as live band, what concern in times of crisis living these days?  “Eventually, U2 has become a live band, but that doesn’t mean that we do not have respect for disks.” In fact, for the recording of the last did a lot for your Bill and why we care of every detail in his presentation live.

“Since we started the tour, moreover, we have concerned because the price of tickets is not so high”.  -The band has made agreements with telephone and other formats to sell their music, do you believe that the future is also digital for U2?  “Clearly, music is geared towards the digital market towards downloads and all kinds of consumer electronics, but I think that companies internet service providers still not be are concerned invest and develop new platforms that benefit musicians in general.”

I think that, indeed, things are changing, but will take some time to make everything normalize.  -It is said that U2 is already working on the successor of “No line on the horizon”.  “We shall return to the tour in June, in California, and of course the guys have been composing songs.” “It is likely to draw a new album from the tour, but the truth is I do not know with certainty”.
