The Lady and U2 Feel Ordinary Love

New York:  Higher, Higher NYC fans and U2 had the energy to raise the roof last night.

Lady Gaga joined U2 onstage last night as the band continued their eight-night residency at New York’s Madison Square Garden. The songstress joined the Irish rockers for a performance of Ordinary Love in her infamous high Alexander McQueen heels and skimpy attire. “It’s yourself.

Her Ladyness, Her Gaganess is here this evening. That’s a treat,” Bono said as he hugged and kissed the blonde bombshell. Taking to the piano, the New York native helped U2 rock the iconic venue – giving a breathtaking performance of the track written in honor of Nelson Mandela. At the end of the phenomenal duet, Bono was quick to praise the US beauty as a “princess” and “queen”.

“Princess, Queen, one day Woman of New York City, here with us tonight in Madison Square Garden. What a delight,” he said.

October Arrives Early to Madison Square Garden

Mark peterson /u2tourfans 2015

New York City: The North American tour will come to close in New York City on July 31st.  The band held their normal sound checks with an addition of "October" which has not been played publicly since 1989. "October" has normally been positioned as lead in to "New Years Day" not last night.

"October" arrival in the second set proved once again that the boys have such a vast catalog of music that a few mix ups in the set list can and will happen. MSG has been a special place for musicians.

Selling out the place is a hard thing to do in New York no matter who you are due to the vast nightly event list. New Yorkers have all types of entertainment available nightly. Fans that have traveled to NYC to see the show have lots to do around the city during the day.

Tickets for the show have been sold out for some time. Fake tickets have been spotted around the venue. Fans get up set that ticket scalping goes on at all of the U2 shows.

However the band and Live Nation have put in controls to curb the scalping of tickets the amount of tickets available on the secondary market continues to grow.

One thing we noticed about this, fans are selling their own tickets back to secondary brokers. Those tickets then become available for sale. The fake tickets around the venue are not from secondary brokers rather from scammers with a printer and time.

Our photographers have been spotted around town taking photos of the fans.  GA Line has a life all to its own. The hardcore U2 fan that will wait in rain or snow in line for that small little space upfront close to the band. U2 fans are the most dedicated fans around the world. Some traveling as far way as Iceland to see the show.

This is their time to connect with other U2 fans and share the experience. U2 fans also connect socially using twitter to follow the show and share their views of how the evening has been going, its a community that has been connected by music.

Seven more shows over the next few days and a couple of breaks in the middle and that's it North America will be in the can as the boys take off to Italy. A much deserved break in the middle.

5AM U2 GA LINE A BUZZING

@U2sjerseygirl/u2tourfans 2015

@U2sjerseygirl/u2tourfans 2015

We have already heard in from @U2sJerseygirl she happens to be #7 and with a short time she will get the official wrist band that will allow her to head back to the hotel for a bit. Fans have been lining up in GA for about two days.  Right now about 150 fans are in line. Fans have always lined up for GA its a event within the event.  Sharing of music, photos and that story about when Larry came out and send hello to us.

Dedicated U2 fans will wait for that chance to meet the band and to be first on the rail. This show is a bit different that we think that you might want to pull back to be able to enjoy the full screens. However that's a personal choice.

Crew load in should be around 6:30 am They will spend the whole day getting ready for the 4PM sound check and once this show is set the crew will have some down time, this is a two day venue.

As for tours this is a pretty solid tour for the crew most cities have a couple of days like NY and LA which will allow for some down time.

Fans need to know that today traffic is going to be a bitch. Baseball is in town for the next few days and of course this concert so plan to arrive early. Remember no opening act means the show starts 7:30 PM ish ( local time)

We will be tweeting and reporting all day on the happenings around the venue. Once we find a stream for tonight's show we will pass it along. Hey the Brazilian U2 fan site has been able to stream a couple of shows.

Photos and Videos - We are always on the look out for some great images. If you have a couple you want to share send them in to us concertphotos@u2tourfans.com

Set list could be anything as the band continues to find the perfect mix of old and new. Most fans have been wanting some throw backs, rare "B" sides however based on what we have heard almost all of the possible tunes have been rehearsed already and loaded into the board. So pretty much they can pick and choose on the fly if they would like. This band really does not do "on the fly" for the most part everything is tightly aligned to the clock and well thought out.
